When we launched in 2019 cannabis edibles and drinks were a fledgling industry and products were exclusively sold through dispensaries in states where medical or adult-use laws existed. It was an incredibly tough business and regulatory environment and only a handful of the brands that we profiled at the time are still in business today.
It’s incredible how the industry has changed over the past few years. Although the groundbreaking hemp bill was passed in 2018, it wasn’t until 2022 that thc drinks began appearing outside of dispensaries.
What’s astounding is how many brands have been born. Walk into certain liquor stores, bars, or online and you’ll notice that the choices are fluid and fascinating.
